Similar to other winter sports like snowboarding, snowscootering may not be as easy as it looks. But that doesn’t mean you cant learn quick! When going slow the ability to take your foot off and catch yourself from falling will help you build confidence, just don’t expect to control it like a normal scooter. Think of it like a snowboard with handlebars instead of bindings.

Forget about boot fittings, any footwear will do! But we would recommend shoes/boots with insulation, water resistance, and good tread. Standard mountain snow sports protective gear is highly recommended. No more sore shins or seperate single-purpose boots to lug around!

Here at Unbound we love all mountain sports. Snowboarding and skiing are fantastic ways to enjoy everything a winter slope has to offer. We just want to add another option!
With a snowscooter you can wear your own standard footwear, making walking and transport more comfortable.
Being able to take your foot off when learning can help people feel safer, and your feet not being attached to the equipment is easier on the joints in the case of a spill.
No more learning complicated adjustment settings or having a day ruined by a broken strap/ binding.
Snowscooters are easier on the wallet. Complete models can be had new for about $400, the price of a decent pair of used ski boots! Our Unbound rentals are also cheaper than the standard ski/board rental rates.
A bindingless scooter configuration brings something entirely new to your experience. Dont think you can’t still ride big mountain, powder, park, mogul, trees etc., once you get the hang of it! Trees are my personal favorite :)
Plus more reasons you really need to find out for yourself!

Resorts are always scared to allow something new on the slopes, and for good reason. Ski slopes can be very busy and you need to be able to maintain full control for the safety of yourself and those around you. Fortunately as resorts learn more about them and their safety record has been proven, more and more resorts have decided to allow them on their slopes and ski lifts! In summit county 3 out of the 4 ski resorts now allow snow scooters, and Unbound will hand deliver one for you to try to all of them :)

Due to resort policy, non resort employees may not officially give lessons on the mountain. As such, we do not offer lessons at this time. we are actively working on finding ways to do so in the future.
